New Jeep and I have Hard Top Questions

If all goes as planned I should be picking up this Jeep next week!

I have a lead on a TJ hard top for a very good price. That I plan to transport home on the TJ then remove for the summer.

When I had my YJ I would remove my soft top and all mounting hardware
when putting my hard top on.

What do I need to do to install the hard top on my TJ to transport it home?

Is there any special hardware needed to mount the hard top besides the
bolts that hold it on the tub?

Do I need to remove the soft top and the mounting hardware?

My new Jeep has 1/2 canvas doors with slider windows any issues with these and a hard top?

I did search put could not find specific answers to these questions

Thanks

if it's like mine, the soft top will have to come completely off. i'm assumeing you already have door surrounds. just the 6 bolts/nuts and latch it down to the winsheild frame. i also have the sliders and no problem with either top. mine came w/hard top and i bought a sunrider soft top for it.

You do not have to take the soft top all the way off, if you carefully tuck it down in the tub.

You should only need six nuts/bolts to bolt it to the tub (I forget what size!)

Jeep recommends against having both tops installed on the vehicle at the same time. If you're gonna leave the hard top on for an extended period, definitely remove the soft top. (Even if you aren't going to leave it on for a long time, I'd still suggest you remove the soft top--it's quick and easy to do, plus it'll prevent you from accidentally damaging your soft top.)

BTW: you'll need to remove your upper door surrounds in order to install the hard top.

I think he asked whether or not he HAD to remove the soft top to transport the hardtop home....right?
I don't think he is going to leave both on!
