New Jeep Owner

Well i went out and bought a 1997 Jeep Wrangler TJ and just wanted to introduce myself before i started posting all over the forums.

Name: Paul
Age: 18
Location: Pensacola Fl
Off road experience: Very little. I was always the one they called to fix their cars after they got broke.
Ride: 97 TJ
Interests: Right now i'm just looking to do trails and nothing to serious. There isn't much "serious" offroading around Pensacola that i know of yet. Just trying to meet some other people with jeeps.
Occupation: As of right now i'm just a student but will be getting a job at a Marina when the season opens back up.

Yup sure did. I talked my dad into loaning me the money. I told him that i would be able to send him a few hundred each month and they wouldn't kill me on insurance. Then i talked to the guy about the Jeep and he had all the receipts and a reputable person did the work so it was all good. And i took it for a little test drive and tried everything out and it worked good. So now i'm a official jeep owner.

Congrats on the new jeep, you're gonna love it! Nice looking rig too! I remember the thread you started a while ago when you were thinking about buying one, glad you went with the TJ, good choice!!

I was in the same situation with my dad. He loaned me the money up front and i've just been paying it off in small payments that work out for me seeing as im a sophomore in college and money is tight right now. It works out really well. You learn to appreciate what you have much more when you actually pay for your own stuff, especially a vehicle.

Glad to hear you did your homework on it too, good job getting the receipts and finding out who did the work. Thats what i did with mine, it had a new engine installed and i actually went to the guy who put in the new engine and asked him a few questions about it. Doing your homework on a vehicle before you buy it saves you a lot of cash and headaches later on down the road.

Anyway congrats again man on owning a jeep! Just be careful, its an addiction

The guy that i bought it from just said that it was a custom front bumper.

Well it's not clean anymore just took it out today and got it stuck in a little mud hole. Thank god for the winch i pulled myself out once. And my friends(non jeep owners) about half a dozen times.

congrates on the Jeep. I was wondering if you made up your mind and which one you picked. I think you'll be very happy with it. It looks great.

looks liek aton of fun, but just so you know if you havnet used a winch before, clean it off so the mud doesnt like get into the rope and stuff, and also put a blanket or something els on top of the cable while you're winching so that if it breaks it doesnt fling bakc at you,
