Well, I decided on a Jeep and found the one I wanted last Friday. The dealer had just received it on a trade-in and hadn't detailed it yet. Plus, they're doing a 177 point inspection (hype meaning a thorough inspection by an unqualified mechanic) and I'm picking it up tomorrow. I looked for weeks for a good deal on a low mileage Jeep that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg. The Jeep is a 2004 hardtop Rocky Mountain Edition with 50,000 miles and has a 4.0 V6 and a manual transmission. It has Alcoa wheels and worn out 30x9.5factory tires. The dealer is installing new tires on it today as well. They told me they would install all-terrain tires and would try to find a set of 30x9.5 locally, but wouldn't guarantee it. I wouldn't be surprised if they install 235/75/15. I hope not though.
Planning to do immediately:
1. Line-X front and rear bumpers and maybe the factory fender flairs. If I'm not satisfied with the carpet, I may have the tub sprayed as well. Herculiner is an option too. I have coated a lot of stuff with Herculiner and have become proficient. UV rays are pretty harmful and it turns grey fast, but my tub won't see much sunlight.
2. Remove front/rear plastic bumper ends and install Mopar bumper plugs
3. Door sill guards
I'll post pics soon!
