New Lift and I think I need to get better Shocks

I had a Fabtech 6" Long Arm installed last week and now the ride is harsh. I mean it jumps all over the place on rough roads like I am riding a 12 speed bicycle. Someone said that I needed different shocks. Currently I have Fabtech Performance Shocks. Any Sugestions?

When you hit a bump on road does it also want to jump one way or the other on you?

more details

When I hit a bump the jeep doesn't pull or jump one way or another. So I don't think it is a bump steer problem based on this observation.

The installer filled the tires to 50 PSI (that is the max). I reduced the pressure to 40 PSI. After talking with another shop I will reducing the pressure to 32 PSI. When I lowered the pressure the first time I did see a slight improvement.

Your tires are equivilent to a 35" and even 32 psi is excessive. Try 26-28 psi at the most. I can't believe the installer filled them to 50 psi, which was likely the pressure molded onto the tire's sidewall which is only supposed to be its maximum allowable pressure to be used only when the tire is carrying its maximum allowable weight.

If 26-28 psi doesn't get your ride to an acceptable comfort level, then swapping your shocks to something like OME (Old Man Emu) will do the trick. Fabtech is no mainstream first-tier manufacturer for Jeeps so their "performance" shock is likely valved more for the large trucks that Fabtech is better at.

Old Man Emu's shocks have an excellent reputation for good ride. A less expensive shock that has a good reputation too is the Skyjacker Hydro (NOT their Nitro!). Avoid Rancho's R5000 and ProComp's ES-3000 as both of those have extremely stiff rides.

Lowing the pressure to 28 PSI today

I will bring down the pressure and see how it rides on the way to work tonight. The city streets here are rough so I will ge a good feel if this fixes my problem

Geez. I bet that's it right there. I run at like 18 psi as a daily driver with BFG Mud Terrains. See those tires set at 50 psi is for like a fully loaded 1 ton truck. Your Jeep doesn't weigh anything near that. That's why it's bouncing like it is. I'm surprised they filled them that high.

I lowered the pressure to 28 in the front and 31 in the rear. The reason for staying at 31 for the rear is that I pull a trailer regularly. The ride is much improved but still not a smooth as stock.

I would go lower than 28. Go to 22 in the front and 25 in the rear. You're still too inflated. That's why your bouncing. Also keep in mind that you are NOT riding on radial tires anymore, so it is going to be stiffer.

Radials vs Bias

Are you saying that Wrangler AT Extreme tires are Bias type tires? I was previously running Perelli Scorpion ATs. I believe that both these tires are Radials

His Goodyear Wrangler AT Extremes are radials. All Wranglers are radials.
