Well I've been talking about it for months but I finally did it. My jeep just got the lift kit and tires installed today. Now I can run with the big(ger) boys!
What went on:
Rough Country 2.5" coil liftkit with shocks
Rough Country 1.25" body lift
Rough Country Steering Stabilizer
Sway bar quick disconnects
Rear track bar drop bracket
33x12.50x15 Goodyear Duratracs
I think it look great and that everything is in proportion. The milk jugs are coming off as soon as I get home.
Rough Country long arm
anti rock rubi axles tummy tuck
If you build your jeep so big and bad that it's really easy to get threw everything out there, then your going to get bored.
Thanks! I've only driven on them a few miles but so far they've been great. There is only a slight hum compared to my Firestone Destination A/T, the duratracs looks a lot meaner in person, and I got a great deal on discount tire. They were in my garage the second day after i ordered them.
I'll take another pic tomorrow. Question. Is it normal for there to be some slight vibes during heavy acceleration? I have a tcase drop installed that was supposed to prevent that. Maybe its just my imagination.
Your Jeep looks like it turned from Blue to Green, Duratracs are great I have them on my Tacoma
2013 Commando Green Unlimited Rubicon with Warn winch, Tnt Midwith front bumper and TnT adventure rear bumper, 4" OME lift Tnt short arm kit, full skids, front axle truss etc..., Rock Sliders with boat side, Rigid2 lights, teraflex tire carrier, kool wheels and KO2's. and other stuff
Yes I got it aligned. It only happens when I really get on it (ex. Highway on ramp). It's not too bad but I might take it back and see if anything is amiss. It's crazy what lighting can do isn't it? The duratracs are great so far! Next on my list is a new speedo gear and bumper/tirecarrier. My speedo is 10mph off at 60mph lol. Then I'm thinking next fall ill regear to 4.11 or 4.56. I'm a teen making around $600 a month so in six months I should have atleast another $2000 ready to go into the regear. Oh the addiction....
Edit: This is the best pic I could do from the front tonight. I'll get a better one tomorrow also here is a before pic from the side.
The wheels are 15x8 Granite Alloy GA's. They came on the jeep when I bought it but I like then a lot. I haven't calculated it all yet but it was about $2000 or just under that. It would have been cheaper to do it myself but I don't have the tools or the know how. I definitely took a mpg and power loss so I am going to regear as soon as I have the money.
I feel like it rides better than stock because of the new shocks and coils. It does however tend to wander a bit more but its not too bad. I'm also getting what I think is driveline vibes so I have to get that checked out. How much is a complete regear? $1200?
It actually rides pretty good. It wanders more than stock because of the tires but rough spots in the road are less jarring. The only "offroading" I've done is my friends long, steep, driveway with lots of mud and snow melt. Sadly there aren't too many places around here to go that isn't private property. One issue I found today was that I no longer have 4lo. Also I'm getting drive line vibes when its under heavy acceleration or I'm keeping speed up a hill. So it looks like I'm going to pay the place a visit this week.
