New owner of a 2001 TJ

Just wanted to say hey. We just purchased a 2001 TJ last night. Looking forward to doing a few mods on it. Any advice on 33s and wheels? What about 2.5" suspension lift? (no procomp)

Glad to be here! So far read some really good threads!

welcome! I also bought my first jeep, 2001 wrangler last year. you will find lots of good advice here from experienced people. 33s might require aftermarket rims from what i have read on here. you don't want any rubbing

Lift options in that range are numerous and for every lift out there, you'll get all kinds of reviews.

The general concensus is OME, Rough Country X-Series, or a budget boost. OME is excellent, but pricy, RC lifts are great/suck depending on who you ask, BB's are a nice low cost option for an easy lift.

For 33's, you'll fit with a 2.5" lift fine without rubbing if you use the 33x10.5" tires. If you want 33x12.5" tires, you'll need tires with about 3.75-4" of backspacing.

Welcome to the site. I have a coworker that just got a TJ in cherry condition and I'll be doing the buildup on it. Gonna be fun to do a buildup on a stock Jeep!

-97 TJ with a few mods. PM with questions.
