Hey everyone, Im in the market for some new tires. I want an aggressive tire that will handle the snow and mud as well as the concrete. This is my DD and i want it in 33x12.5x15 What are some good ones?
Ps. Where can I get cheap rims? and what do you guys think are some decent brands?
Normally I would say BFG all terrain, but you said mud. So I would go with the Goodyear duratrac. Can't go wrong. As for rims I got mine from 4wd.com they are pro comp rock crawlers in steel. Where like 56$ each.
I bougth Mickey T's MTZ, had really good luck with them on wearing so far. I have between 16-17K miles on them. Just keep the right pressure and rotate regular!!
Take a look at Goodyear MT/R. Reasonably priced with a strong sidewall. Make sure you buy a set of aluminum wheels instead of steel. Much easier to balance and less apt to bend on rocks.
Discount tire direct sells inexpensive aluminum wheels that don't cost Much more than steel. If you buy a package deal pay the extra for road force balance.
I have Mickey Thompson Classic Lock wheels with 33 BFG MT's. They are for my DD and I love them. I have heard great things about Duratrac's, but don't have any experience.
Goodyear Duratracs in 33x12.5 here. Good for street and moderate wheeling. Really flexy sidewalls when aired down but also easier to puncture on sharp rocks. When paired with 15" aluminum/alloy wheels it's a pretty lightweight combo.
