I got new shocks, new wheels, replaced the front 3/4 inch spacers and then a cat back from DynoMax with the $75 rebate. I put the rear together last week, including the exhaust. Ug, one bolt broke trying to get the shocks off and nothing would coax it out. I broke the nuts I welded on before the bolt would budge
I ended up drilling a new hole and replacing the damn thing. Should be fine.
Here she is when I got her last summer:
And what she looks like now:
The front was easy. Once I figured out to use the ratchet tie downs to keep the springs compressed before I lowered the axle on one side instead of trying to recompress them afterwards it went quick. Rides great with the new wheels, and shocks. No more rubbing the track arm or bottoming out the old shocks that were to long by two inches
I think the PO had a longer lift and left the shocks, but who knows? The 3/4 inch spacer should take the rake out with the winch on the front again.
One of the old shocks:
And the old muffler:
Lastly, I took care of some of the surface rust on the frame with a wire brush and painted what I could see. No pics of the front, but you get the idea. Now on to repainting and rewiring the winch and bumper. Glad I'm done for the time being.
