New soft top

I have a rampage frame less soft top and it's a POS. Any recommendations on what is good. At the moment I'm leaning towards the bestop supertop

How about giving some details about what you don't like about the Rampage...... I think you'll be able to get some useful info by doing so. Is it too noisy? Doesn't fit right? etc..

I broke the zipper zipping it up. Lost like 3 teeth on it. But what I really don't like is that it doesn't fold down. I need to pull the whole top off and leave it @ home if I want to go topless. Here where I live the weather can change fast and I'd hate to get stuck in a rain squall and have no top.

The grass is always greener on the other side......I have an OEM soft top and I wish I had the frameless top......we could solve that problem except I have an LJ. So I understand...you want to go topless? So taking your R off you're not able to store it onboard? Same with the OME...I believe you can put on and off your frameless quicker than I could do my OEM.JMO. My wife will only remove the side windows because it is so much hassle to do the whole top.

I made the decision to go with the Softopper frameless and absolutely regret it. Now this is strictly my opinion. I am buying a factory soft top. The quality and motion of the factory top is unbeatable. Even though Bestop manufactures the factory top for jeep, their oem-style aftermarket option, being the Supertop or SupertopNX, just doesn't hold up to true factory. The skin isn't bad, but their "oem-style" hardware is poor quality. However, if you're on a budget, that's probably the way you want to go. The true OEM factory top I'm getting is $1200. And they only have black, which I wanted camel but it has been completely discontinued. Oh well, I will sacrifice the color for quality.

Steve, I was going to get the Softopper, but I found an OEM on CL for $250 for my LJ, but there are times I wish I had gone with the Softopper. The decision was basically monetary even though the OP said he had everything....I had to get the roll bar brackets for a $100...so I guess it came to $350. It had a dime size hole in the top rear, but I used one of my kids old backpack to cut some black nylon and used some Goo to adhere it.....never see it ....don't notice. Easy fix.

Nice find! The best I have been able to find used for my TJ is piece by piece which is becoming ever slower. I figure go ahead and bite the bullet for brand new one, at least it will come with absolutely everything I need, plus a warranty, and I won't have to spend any more time looking haha. We'll see though. I have till the end of the week to make my final decision.

If you decide to sell your frameless top when you get a new one. How much would you want for it?

I also have a Softopper and will NOT be buying another one.
I will go with the Bestop Trektop NX frameless for my next top.

Well just so you know, my TJ came with a hard top, so I didn't have the door surrounds. The model softopper I got won't work with factory door surrounds. But it came with it's own hardware setup. It is the tan/spice color with tinted windows. I'm not happy with it. So that takes away some value. Brand new it was almost $600. I've had it for about two months. I'd let it go for $400. Maybe you could even talk me down a little.

No clue. Love mine. A cursory look seems on here seems to have more people that like it than not. Also, I don't know how many that don't like it did *not* have the factory door surrounds. Most that are down on the Softopper, it seems to me, had to get the version that came with Softoppers door surrounds. Everyone that already had factory surrounds and got the Softopper made for that (myself included) seem to love it.

I love the OEM framed top on my 2000 TJ. I replaced the skins and added the sunrider feature....and don't think I would ever change to something else. But, we all have different preferences. Good luck!!!

Are the $200 factory soft top replacements on EBay any good?

I was also wondering about the factory replacements on Ebay as well. If anyone has done this and willing to shed some light in them please do so! Thanks

I have the Sierra off road $200 soft top....its a $200 soft top, what can I say? Its a good fit. The zippers are tricky, I have had to bend them back to make them work before. the plastic is thin, very thin. But I roll my windows up in a towel and put them in the back 75% of the time. The canvas itself is thin but good. It sure beats my old torn factory soft top, but I wish I could have afforded a bestop

I like my Softopper, but I also have the factory door surrounds. I have Sierra upper door skins, in black diamond, and while the windows are a thin, soft plastic, the fabric itself is almost as thick as the sail cloth the top is made of. The fact that I paid $89 for the door skins doesn't hurt any either.
