new speakers sound like crap ?

I swapped out factory front and rear speaker on my rubi with a good pair of after market speakers i had from my wrecked tj.
The speakers sounded good in my wrecked jeep in the new jeep they make a popping sound . The front just plugged in, the rear needed plugs off the older 2002 wrangler . I think its wired the rite way but it sounds like crap .
Will speakers play if wired backwards ? John

Almost certainly one wired backward. They will play that way, but will vibrate opposite how they should (in when they should be out and vise-versa). Not an issue if all are wired out of phase, but one wired out of phase will kill your sound with destructive interference of the sound waves. It usually sounds like popping.
