Welcome

Welcome,
Wrangler forum is a good start. Find the sub forum for the Model of the jeep you picked up. Read, ask questions. The folk here have been very helpful. oh never ever call you jeep a car, just a heads up. They do horrible things to the newbs that call it a car. Some are never seen again. Okay I exaggerate, but it’s best to be on the safe side.
FYI they are all enablers here. oh sure it starts off Innocent enough, a grab handle here, a floor mat there, then you spending your kids collage fund for wheels, tire, bumpers, winch, cargo nets, light bars, lights, it never ends. And they will all encourage you to keep upgrading. You have been warned. No one did the same for me. And pictures, lots of pictures. Try to avoid plastic dip. If you have to use it, make sure you reseal the can that stuff is like cat nip to jeepster. If you take a gallon of that stuff 150 miles into the deepest back woods area and open it, they will pop out of god knows where. If the libtards ever start hunting us down that what they will use to bait the traps with.

Hello, my name is Greg.
It’s been two weeks since I last use PD. The vet was able to get most of it off the neighbor’s cat. I took longer to get all the jeeps off my lawn. I had to stage a trail run…

Wheel it first and see what you actually need.

This. Wheel it and be amazed. Then wheel it some more until you get to a hill climb and the jeep tells you no way in hell. Then start blowing your money

Unless its a street queen...that's cool too...

I would start off with getting a baseline on it. Dig in and change the fluids (front and rear diff, xfer case, gearbox, oil,(good heavy duty 10-30 with Zinc and phos additives- Flat Tappet motors love this) check brakes, brake fluid and battery. Once you have a solid platform you can move on to the cool toys we all love to hang on our jeeps. Do some homework before doing any mods. Can't tell you how many threads talk about wasted dollars on the wrong T.B. spacers, intakes, chips, and catbacks.

^^^Good advice.

H4 headlight conversion is a great mod that can be done for cheap. It makes you a much safer driver as it replaces the absolutely awful stock headlights.

I actually like the stock headlights. They seem really bright compared to my previous vehicles.

As for your question, do a couple free/cheap upgrades. There's a great thread on here with plenty of ideas for that. The first thing I did with mine was change all of the fluids. The transfer case fluid was quite spent, and I'm glad I caught it early.

Take the bolts off of the bottom of your door hinges, and throw them away.

That is a solid starting place.

First thing go to wal mart and buy a ski mask ( full face ) then go to the local pawn shop pick up a .45 with ammo. Find a Bank that does not have a sucurity guard and rob said bank.

That might get you through you first round of mods, but prolly not. Anyways good luck and welcome to the suck.

Plasti dip is used universally. Evidence here from Twitter...

@m3ganlove
My hair is so damaged that my split ends have split ends ??

@JeepWranglerSux
@m3ganlove Plasti Dip will fix that. Worked great on my Jeep and you can peel it off if you don't like it.

Agree'd

And skid plates or under armor will NEVER hurt you. thats what I started with and then 2 short years later... a small beast has been created.
I suggest to most people (if they are going to wheel), Skid plates & tow points, winch & CB, then lift, tires, cage, ect.
