Thanks! Its a great riding jeep. I had been looking for another jeep when I stumbled upon this one, and the color is what sealed the deal!

Nice! I thought those were TJ LIMITED , not Unlimited. I thought Unlimited started with the four door JKs?

From 04-06 they made they TJ unlimited. Its got a longer wheel base than the standard wrangler. They do call the 4 door jk's unlimited as well. But mine is still a TJ.

Oh I know about the Jeep itself I just thought it was the Limited and that's why so many people refer to them as LJs, I just didn't realize it was an Unlimited.

When I bought my 06 Unlimited, the dealer had advertised it as an "06 Jeep LWB" (Long Wheel Base). I believe that the "L" in "LJ" is referring to the 'long wheel base'.

I have seen this particular model called TJL, LJ, and TJ Unlimited in various parts catalogs and websites.

It took someone here to tell me about LJs. I think they're largely a mystery to most.

Yea I didnt know much about them either being as I have always been more into CJ's. Then about 3 years ago I seen one for the first time and I developed a fascination for them. Thankfully everything lined up for me when I found mine and it was an opportunity I couldn't pass up.

Absolutely! The ride has thoroughly impressed me! I test drove quite a few wranglers but this one takes the cake on ride quality.

When I went and picked up our LJ I had a 856 mile ride home. After the initial excitement it was straight up and over the mountains in PA and then I 81, where the LJ really shines. Cruising effortlessly 70-80 and tracking spectacularly....I attribute the ride quality to the longer wheelbase.

I think that was deffinetley one of the biggest surprises to me was the ease that it took to get to 70 and the smoothness of the ride once at that speed. Of course it probably feels that way to cause im used to driving my ol CJ!

Does anyone know if the Unlimited front seats have more leg room in them than the stantard TJ? I just got a 99 and I feel a little cramped. I'm 6'3 and have some long legs. Just wondering if there was any extra inches or two..

A quick search tells me that both your 99 TJ and my 05 TJ unlimited have 41.1 inches of leg room. So I am going to assume there is no difference in the seats...

Congratulations! Just bought my 2006 LJ Rubi a week ago. Working on fixing a few things that were neglected by the PO, and then will be looking to upgrade. Mostly, it smelled of smoke inside. Will replace the carpet kit, and have scrubbed and used a friend's ozone generator a bit. Needs tires and a new front track bar. Will get an adjustable so it is ready for a lift. Maybe a lift in 6 months or so. Lots of little things I want to do in the meantime. The idea is to make it a bit more offroad capable without turning it into a rock climbing monster.

I've got a silver '04 LJ, owned since new, and love it. Just started to think about modifying it though. Was yours already lifted and such? Love the color of yours! Congrats!

Welcome to the LJ family;
We have taken ours to extreme weather conditions from below freezing to 120deg. and back to camp with minimal Body Damage with no issues.
I can't be happier with our LJ, I still can't understand why Jeep doesn't bring them back.

Good luck getting rid of that stench. I've never saw a vehicle that could be completely rid of the pungent odor of smoke. If you are successful, please share your results.

I have the same Rampage bumper. You should get the lights from Rampage:
