New to Site, questions about lift kits

I currently own a 2004 TJ and I have a set of 285/70/17 tires that I would like to put on. Just need to know what size of lift I need. I will mainly be using it for a DD but may take it a little off road when I go to my hometown but no plans on any extreme off-road. Just maybe going through some mud and little stuff. Looking for a stout look. Nothing too tall. Open to any thoughts and ideas. First Jeep.

I am thinking maybe a rough country 2.5" lift with a 1" spacer. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

If you are on a budget you should look into the zone 3" lift. Seems to have much better reviews than rough country

Thanks. Do you think I would be able to fit like 35s under it if I wanted to upgrade eventually. Also it is a 4 cyl. and I dont want to completely kill the top end haha.

Stay away from Skyjacker - and you get what you pay for in lifts.

Rubicon Express makes a very solid lift @ 3.5". That will fit your 33's. And you can spacer it later to stuff 35's.

A lot of people have told me to stay away from the rough country. Does it come with everything i would need? I'm sorry. I'm new to the whole lift setup. I've had lowered vehicles and dirtbikes but never had a lifted vehicle.

Rough country has everything you need but you have to order it as extras get the x series 4in lift i got it.....its actually pretty sweet it comes with everything the only few things you need to order are steering stabilizer, slip yoke eliminator, drop pitman arm, and the extended rear drive shaft DO NOT get the transfer case drop kit spend the extra money and do it the right way send me a pm if you want more info ill give you my number and shit
