New to the forum with a couple of questions.

Hi folks. Just got a "new to me" 04 Sport 4.0 with 65k. All the scheduled maintance was performed by the previous owner and documented except the 60k scheduled maintance (aside from an oil change at 63k). I'm starting to work my way through the 60k service and replaced the plugs with Champion 7034 Double Platinum Power. Seemed recommended on this forum. The plugs in it since 30K were Bosch +4. It ran good, but I just wanted to keep the scheduled maintance by the book. I put the 7034 plugs in (gapped at .035) and ran real rough. I put the Bosch +4 plugs back in and it runs fine again. The 7034 champions are supposed to work fine for the year and engine size. Am I missing something here. I'm by no means new to turning wrenches. thks

That's quite impressive actually...I've never seen anything run worth a crap on Bosch plugs.

What for jerry to chime in. I honestly can't remember which plugs since you have the distributor less ignition. They are a little more touchy to plugs then the older style ignition. To the plugs tho if they look good and run fine no need to change them honestly. Plugs are plugs when they stop working they stop working. When they are working fine they are working fine. There is really no in between with them. they will tell you a lot by what the electrode ends look like.

Thks folks. I read that about the Bosch plugs not being...

very good in the jeep and was supprised myself when I put the Champions in. Go figure. i guess i'll just leave the Bosch plugs in.

I would too.

GO with what works.

If the Champions were dual platinum then they are the "proper" plugs per Jerry B. (I went w/ the Autolite version of the same plug, and have had great luck). But if the Bosch works for you, then don't mess with a good formula.
