New to the jeep world

Im looking into buying a tj with a 4.0 here in the next month or two. I have been reading on this forum for a week now just tring to read everything i can. I see one thing that has been coming up alot in magazines and over the internet. That is the stroker kit for the 4.0. I know the 4.0 is legendary and runs longer the forest gump. But will this kit cut down the life span of the engine? I am going from a world of v8's and high horsepower so I know more horsepower=more wear. So what am i to expect from this kit?

well i dont think you're gonna need it, all you need is gearing, but somone else can answer the wear question

btw if you are looking for lots of power to the wheels you're gonna NEEEDDD to get a jeep witht eh rear dana 44 axle, this can be differentiated formt he D35 by seeing if the fill cap i s[lastic or matel, if it is meatl in the rear then it is fine, it is a D44 iof it is a plastic black thingy then it is a D35 and you dont want it!
