New Trektop NX?

Does anyone have it yet? I'm thinking of selling both my hard and softtop to get this....is it like the rampage where you can store the windows up top?

Two new tops, neither one out yet: the Supertop NX, which is in that video. It's a factory-style top with some extra features.

The Trektop NX, which is styled like the classic Trektop, but has a TON more features.

Mid March is what they'er saying for Supertop NX, and slightly later for Trektop NX. (I think - I'm not at work right now, and don't have my sheet).

Weird, 4 Wheel Parts told me the Trektop NX was available as of Valentines Day. I was going to get it for my LJ this week.

Sort of what I also heard. But my main question was about the windows....do they store up top like on the rampage top. That's my main thing. Driving to where I'm goin with the windows and being able to take them off when I get there.

That's our fault. It was supposed to be out middle of February. I would guess 4 wheel parts is unhappy with us right now. I do not know what the delay is, but do know that we rushed a launch awhile back, and no one wants to do that this time. It will be right.

The back three windows come off, and can be rolled and stored. It does not have a storage compartment in the top.

Any top with a frame and bows will be easier to fold down behind the rear seat, and be able to put back up much more quickly. The bows provide a frame and a pivot point that helps keep the top more like a "real" convertible top.

A bowless style top needs to be completely removed. Once removed, you can leave it at home, or "stuff" it behind the seats. But this is going to be more of a pain. Not that significant, and most people who own bowless tops really like them.

So on this trektop... if i were to somehow make a compartment like the rampage one (without altering the top) would it be the better option?

The thing i dont like about the Rampage one is that i want to be able to take the top COMPLETELY off in a few minutes (like the OEM Soft top) but also like the safari style (like Rampage offers)...make sense?

Hope they come out soon. I'll be needing a new top next winter and I'd like to see some reviews. The "other" brand seems to be having some issues.

I got an email from bestop:

Thank you for writing.

The current Trektop only allows you to unzip and remove the rear window. The new Trektop NX that will be released to our retailers come Spring allows you to unzip and remove all 3 back windows.
The Trektop is a fairly easy top to install and remove in warm temperatures.

Thank You

Im not all that happy with 4WD.com right now. I called them last week about the Trektop NX for my LJ and was told that they were expected in today and should be sent out to fill the orders over the few days after so I ordered one expecting to get it in sometime next week. I just called them up for another reason and while I had them on the phone I inquired about my Trektop. I was informed that whom ever I placed my order with didnt know what they were talking about and that they wouldnt be receiving the tops until mid May. Is that now the official word Geoff?

So the terktop nx has to be completely removed to take off?

Well there isnt a frame to fold and tuck back like an OEM top so its either on (with or without windows or sunrider open) or off

A frameless top should still let you use the back seat. When I got the first trektop (not the NX) I was able to use the back. But I returned that top the next day.

Poor joke on my part-got halftop after learning (on here) one would fit on my'04 wrangler. Had wanted one since '05 but thought it wouldn't fit.

With summer almost here-will be switching to bikini, jammer, and duster-'cause I like that look--- and it will open the Jeep more than just flipping the halftop back.

But I probably should have a full top just in case some day I need to use the back seats-want frameless so I can free up a little more garage space -as my factory softtop has been hanging on the wall for 10 of the last 12 months. and I plan on letting another jeeper get it.

Yea I got that bikini top set too and it does have a neat look but I just started to get tired of the inside of me jeep being wet with morning dew since it's not air tight. But that just because of fall weather in New England 75 in the day and 25 at night.

Yes...reason I ordered one instead of the Rampage version. Id take the sunrider option any day over having an area to store the windows!
