New (used) Jeep!

Hey guys, just bought a 1997 Wrangler TJ. Lets see if I can upload the pics without screwing it up and looking dumb. Looks like someone broke into it at one point because the soft window is cut straight across. Either that or the owner got locked out, the door acts funny when you close it tight, you have to jiggle the lock to get it to open. Anyone know a better way to clean that up other than duct tape until I can either take the doors off or get new soft uppers? Also looks like I'm going to have to get some krylon fusion and touch up the fenders. I'll post more pictures after I do all that and take the front milk jugs off. Maybe get some Hella 500s

Oh it's a 6 cylinder 5 speed manual

GREAT LOOKIN JEEP!!! Welcome!

As for the window, some goof off may remove the glue but it also may tarnish the plastic. When my old soft windows cracked on one side, I used some good 3M packaging tape on the inside and out. It lasted a year before I pulled 'em off... And, it is clear

you could always cover it with some black duct tape until you get new ones. At least it is not as noticable if your worried about the duct tape look. Heck, some guys put duct tape on their jeeps even when they don't need it. "Just for the look"

Welcome to the Forum. Good choice on the TJ. Rattle can the fenders and check e-bay and craigslist for a replacement window. Then you can really start spending some cash.

Is it too early in the year to take the top off? Because I did... and people were looking at me like I was insane. Not too bad but now it's dark out and way colder.

Congrats on the new Jeep.

It might be a simple fix for the door rattle by adjusting the the catch on the door frame.

Don't forget to wave!

That's actually not a bad idea... Why didn't I think of that?

Looks like I'll be picking up some packing tape, black satin krylon fusion and maybe some hella 500s at walmart tomorrow.

Oh, and on the topic of the Jeep wave, I've been waving and receiving waves from a lot of drivers, minus the newer jeeps for some reason. I've also had a few people lean out the window and scream "WOOOOO" while waving

Shivx - I have a set of black upper door skins listed on Pittsburgh's Craigslist if you are interested. I only used them 1 month before I ordered a new top which came with them. $75.00 shipped if you want them.

Congrats on the Jeep...always loved that color.
