I'm having difficulty grasping the whole backspacing topic. I've seen the links with diagrams and am trying to make sense of it all. I have some 31x11.5's and plan on purchasing new pro comp black steel rock crawlers. Performance4trucks has the wheels available in the right size, 15x10, but also in three different backspace settings, 2.5", 3.75", & 4.25". I dont want these to rub or stick out over the flares too much. what size should i be looking at? the deeper the back space the further the tire is situated under the wheel housing, right? so too much backspacing would lead to rubbing? Is that that right and what are your recomendations. Man I feel so incompetent. Thanks!
I would do 15x8's. That way when you do wheel it the tire bead has less of a chance of coming unseated. Then run 4.25 of backspacing. It will not rub, Wait till jerry gets in here to make any final decesions.
lol. ya i was kinda waiting for him to say something. I looked to see if he was online earlier. Now isn't it that you want wheels that are no more than 2" smaller than your tire width? I guess that's why i was lookings at 15x10's
