newb auto tranny questions

Hey guys, so I test drove a 2001 6cyl auto trans today. This is the first auto I've test driven. When I hold in the brake and shift into drive or reverse, the Jeep kinda slumps forward or backward, is this normal?

ok thanks guys, I put a down payment on it saying I wanted to look into this before I sign the paperwork, so hopefully I'll be picking up my first Jeep today!
