First off let me say hello, my name is Danny and I just picked up my first TJ '99 Auto with the 4.0L 6cyl(had a JK unlimited two years ago). I bought the Jeep already lifted with a Rough Country kit of which I'm not sure what height of lift it is but the arms that connect to the axles are in fact different to those of the stock ones as I can tell from my father's stock height wrangler. Also, it sits on 33" tires running american racing 15" wheels. the Jeep was very well taken cared of from what i can see from both the interior and exterior. (will post pix soon).
My questions are: What gearing and axles should this wrangler be running as is and what recommendations would you guys make for both better daily driving and wheeling with the current setup I described in respects to my current wheels and lift?
I've seen mention of SYE and was wondering what it was for and how I'd benefit from it?
As for a locker kit, what recommendation would you guys have for occasional wheeling out of the Jeep while also being safe for daily commuting and not breaking the bank?
Lastly, I've read mention of transfer case drop kits and what not, was wondering if it were something i should consider? Im assuming from the different from stock arms connecting to the axles that the kit i have is possibly a 3"-4" short arm lift?
Any info is greatly appreciated. My goal is to get the best combined daily commuter and occasional weekend wheeler out of this Jeep to paint a better picture for you guys. Im in FL so the kind of wheeling there is out here is Mud, sand, water, and some decent hills here and there in the designated wheeling parks here.
