Newbie

Hi all,
Going to buy an 05 wrangler X, it has 20k miles, it is a 6 cyl, with a 6 speed manual trans. Soft top, and completely stock, no lift and the cheapo wheels.

I have a few questions

1. What does the X designate?

2. Is this a good Jeep/Year? It will be driven mostly on pavement with some very steep grades.

3. Interested in a BB 2" lift, for 31" tires???

4. What is the best 2" BB lift?

5. I was thinking about American Racing Mojave teflon (black) wheels, the jeep is white. What tires should I go with???

Thanks in advance

Trim package. X =basic package.

All depends on how the vehicle was previously taken care of. With the little mileage it has should be just fine. But I would also look to see if it is the original Motor with that little mileage. Not uncommon for a jeep to have few mileage though.

Go for it. It will give you good room to flex while offroad. You can also run 31x10.5 on stock suspension.

4. What is the best 2" BB lift?

They are really all the same with the exception of shocks. A poly spacer is a poly spacer. The shocks will be your deciding factor in the ride.

Tires are up to you and what you want. An allterrain will be the better tire for on road use as you state you will be mostly doing. Mud Terrains will not last as long on pavement but will be better off road.

Thanks in advance

15" wheels will enable you to have more selection available for tires, as well as being less expensive. That is what most of us run, I believe.

Welcome to the forum, white on black looks fantastic! One of my favorites (and I don't usually like white vehicles)

I really like my X. As you see it, no lift 31" tires. Have fun with your Jeep

The "X" is a basic model that comes standered with the 6 cyl instead of the 4 cyl, i would save your money and get a bigger lift cause you will want one down the road!
