Should be fine in the snow, I will guess your snow driving is mostly hard packed roads? So I don't don't think it would be that bad. As for turning on a dry section, I think you would be fine as it would be at a slower speed, and if you hit dry sections on the road mixed with coverd.. should not be an issue either. I suppose you could swap in a 242 case, but then you also might need to get new drive shafts etc depending on length differences, and other factors, so it could prove to be costly.
