Smile Newbie asking for some advice on rims/tires.

I've had my '03 Wrangler X for a couple of years now. Finally wore out the tires and I'm ready to upgrade.

Also just moved into a new house with a standard garage with 8 ft ceilings where I've already rigged myself a removal system for my hardtop.

Was wondering if I could get some advice on what tires/rims would fit on my jeep without a liftkit...I want them to be as mean as possible...

Also, wondering if some folks with 3 in lift kits would post the height of their jeep so I could see if a lift kit is even an option for me & still be able to park in my garage.

Thanks for the help....

One option if you want to stay stock height would be to get black steelies like the soft 8 - either Cragar of ProComp. They have 4" backspacing so it would stick your tires out a little. Then you could go with some 31x10.50 BFG ATs or any 31" tire of your choice. Or you could install a 2" spring lift or budget boost and fit 32s. Add a 1" Body lift and you can go 33s.

I doubt you would have any garage clearance issues with 3" of lift. Here's my LJ with a 2" spring lift and 1.25" body lift - soft 8s and 32" BFG ATs. And welcome to WF!

You can easily run 31x10.5 on your stock wheels without a lift. You may possibly get a rub on full turn. (I did not) Not until I put on my lift. Now I get a little rub on the lower control arm at full right turn.

The height is not a problem. I have a 2-1/2" lift with 31s and park it in my garage with a 7' door.

Here are my progress pics.

Sorry, I just like to show it off.

I have no problems getting in my garage with 33's and 2" spacer lift.... Duratracs have a nice aggressive look, with nice manners...
