Cool Newbie lift for 1999 TJ

I recently purchased a very stock 1999 TJ and I want to lift it a little and put slightly bigger tires on some 15X8 wheels. Thinking bout 2" suspension lift and maybe an inch body lift with 31" rubber. (looking @ Goodyear Dura Track)
Wanting some suggestions as to weather this is a good idea and what kits I can get and why they are good.
Would also like to see owner picyures of this or near this configuration.
This Jeep needs to stay as "driveable" as possible at highway speeds.
Also bear in mind I have never owned a Jeep before and am up to about 1.25 hours of stick time, and 40 hours internet time!
Thanks in advance for any/all imput

If you're never going to leave the pavement, you don't need a lift to fit 31" tires on your Jeep. If you are going to leave the pavement and you want sufficient room to really flex your axles and stuff the tires in the wheelwells, a 2" lift (even a simple budget boost, aka BB) is all you'll need. Here is a budget boosted TJ with longer shocks on 31" MT/Rs showing a stupid amount of flex:

Even if you don't plan to go overboard like I do, I still think a BB is a wise idea if you're running 31" tires. It makes the Jeep look about perfect and it still rides like factory.
