Newbie needs fat tires

What's up dudes! Just paid my 05 tj sport off and after an inspection, replaced my u joints rear brakes and some other things so I can now spend on some wheels. I'm goin with the eagle alloy 050 black 17s. My newbie question for the day is what size tire can I go up to with no lift comfortably? I do want a fat tire with some teeth, however plan to use it for road mostly. I've researched but there are so many to chose - I need some help. Maybe some pics...these rims are a 20 offset I believe (17×8 5×4.5, 4.9 backspacing I think) Hook me up please.

31x10.5. Those rims may look odd with small tires
