Newbie saying Hey

Hello all. Just joined this site, it always seems to come up when I do searches on google regarding issues with my wrangler, and I got some good info that way. I am totally new to this kind of site, so I may have trouble navigating in the begining of where to be what forum etc. I am not even sure where to post questions about my Jeep on here yet. It is an 06 Wrangler with 50k on it and now it wants to malfunction. Having issues with sensors being triggered, engine light on. Took it to a shop, they said it had two codes come up one for an oxygen sensor and one for a IAT sensor. Had the two replaced but the IAT sensor triggered the engine light again. Mechanic said he would not charge for the IAT sensor which is good. He did leave the new sensor in, but engine lite still stays on. I really do not want to bring it to the dealer, they tend to be very costly.
I would be grateful for any advice or further knowledge about this issue with this sensor and what it actually does and what harm it could be doing while I wait and figure it out. I am not a mechanic by any stretch, but I can manage some things.
Thank you.
Mark P.
