No Back-up Lights

My back-up lights are out. Have been for a couple of years. Nobody said anything in AZ (no inspection required), but I guess it's a HUGE deal in PA. Go figure! Anyhow, lights are good, fuses all good. Pulled shifter indicater plate, no switches, etc...Sprayed some silicon lube on everything and put it back together.

Any ideas on where to start next? '04 X, 4.0, Auto. Thanks!!

Reverse indicator switch was faulty on my '04 Sport 5 Speed when I had the same problem. Bought the switch for under $20, and within 20 minutes I had pulled the old one out (drivers side of transmission housing) and put the new one in.

Now it passes inspection! Good Luck!

Sorry about that. After looking a little harder, I found that the 42RLE position sensor is part of the valve body assy. MOPAR P/N 4659676AB. This is a good drawing for the trans:
