No dash lights or fog lights

Hey fellas, I've tried my best to research this topic before I post, however I can't find anything to help my situation.

Let me begin by stating this is probably all my fault. I installed some Smittybilt tube fenders which for the $$ was an awesome mod. They have a small 3/4 hole in the front which I mounted some 2 wire clear lens amber LEDs. It looks amazing

This is where the problem began. I took the wiring harness for the marker lights, turn signals, and fog lights and hacked them up for my LEDs. I used the green wire for the negative lead on the led and black and black with yellow stripe wire for the positive lead on the led. They work great.

I noticed when I tore up the wiring harness for the 3 lights I wasn't able to wire up the extra led marker light I bought. When i tried to wire it like it was wired OEM it didnt illuminate. I didn't really care about this as having operating turn signals was my priority.

So I took her for a test drive and noticed when I pulled the head light switch my dash had no lights (dimming light) all other lights worked fine and gauges worked fine just dimmer doesn't work, can't see how fast I'm going

Also my fog light switch doesn't work anymore either.

This is where i need help. I've checked all the fuses both inside the truck and out. I do have an aftermarket stereo however it's worked fine since I've owned the vehicle and it's probably not a coincidence the light are not working right after I hacked the front 3 lights harness.

My goal now is to find a wire I can "jump" to provide power to the dash light. I can't read those schematics but if someone can tell me which wires I can splice to have the dash illuminated preferably when I pull the headlight switch.

For the fog light switch, I've ordered some rocker switches from the OTRATTW website which is super cool!! I'm just going to run a new power source from the battery from the fog light harness that came with my hella lights should be simple to get that going...

Any help is greatly appreciated, please just need to know what wires I can splice to get my dash lit up. Also did cutting up the wiring harness for the turn signals, parking light, and fog light ruin a circuit or something? It's not like I cute them close to the dash, I cut them right where they connect to the lights...

You need to start by undoing whatever you did to see if that fixes the problem, then reinstall the wiring for the bumper LEDs. Trying to add additional wiring to fix something you jacked isn't the way to go.

You should not have had to cut into anything to install the lights, so splice whatever you cut without the LEDs connected, to see if that fixes the problem.

Once you have that working, use a suitcase connector to attach the bumper LEDs to a good positive and ground the other side appropriately.

SecretAgentMan I took your advice and redid my wiring. I wanted to take the easy way out which would have made so much more work in the long run. I just undid what I did and found the problem. I got my running lights, dash, and fog lamps back!

Thanks again for talking me into doing the right thing, it probably saved me so many hours in the long run
