No Doors, Need Mirrors, Got Vents.

I never have doors on my 2000 TJ. I need to figure out a solution to get some mirrors. I've seen all of the ones with mirrors on a little post. I don't want to do that. I'd like a less imposing solution. Here's what I'm thinking. Let me know if you have seen this, thought about it, or know someone who has. I popped out my drivers side vent and have been looking at it. I can imagine the up/down part and the little vents being removed and replacing it with a mirror somehow. I would be able to move it left/right because that's how the little housing works. Heck leveraging the up/down functionality would be cool also.

What do y'all think? Anyone done this?

Thanks

Gay.will not work.best to buy some long-stem Harley Davidson mirrors and stick them in the upper hinge holes!

for about $80 bucks you can get the mirror relocation brackets that go where your windshield bracket is and put them up there, plus it will has a light mount tab too

Ok, I kind of like the relocation brackets. Haven't really looked at those. Thanks for the suggestion.

If you want some relocation brackets, make me an offer (via PM, not here)...I got a set I've never installed (without light tabs). I opted for the Harley mirrors (which take all of 5 minutes to install) after learning that the passenger mirror is pretty much useless when the door is on. If I'm gonna have mirrors, I want them to be fully functional.

x2,s3nt3nc3d!The Harley mirrors, although I hate the chrome-are very useful as well as go on or off in a snap!

I went with a black Harley mirror on my black LJ...works great!

In NC, we only need 1 outside mirror, so I don't run one on the passenger side.
