No more sealed beam??

I was chatting with some pros at a local auto parts store and was told that the sealed beam headlights in the jeeps are not going to be produced anymore and that vehicles that use sealed beam lights will have to switch to a H4 system or similar system. Has anyone heard of this??

H4 is a style of automotive bulb that is separate from the head lap housing.

so every manufacturer is going to stop making the bulbs that about 70 years of vehicles take, and then expect everyone to buy the h4 conversions? i doubt it.

Blue? you got one of those aftermarket cheap blue lights didn';t you...

Just for everyone's info, the IPF H4 Fatboys are very very bright, they are not blue and is probably one of the best upgrades for the TJ that I have done. The guy at the auto store usually doesn't know about these or any of the other performance headlights unless they sell them. These lights are a little spendy for the bulbs and housings but so worth the money. look around a little online for the bulbs and housings, you can find a good deal. I found my Fatboys for $34 on Ebay brand new (Fatboys usually run about $75-$80) and the E-code housings for $60 for a set from 4wheelparts.com. Good luck with the conversion.

Never had mine sunk, but the IPFs come with a rubber gasket thing purposely to help prevent them filling up. I think I remember reading they were designed for submersion. Not long periods of time, but if you hit a creek a little to hard youll be good.
