No power to coil?

1999 Wrangler 2.5...

I am pulling my hair out here.. I have power to seemingly everything, but no spark.

Tested to power wire to the coil and it has notta. There is power to the starter, turns over just fine. Checked every fuse that I could find, everything appears good.

If I run a jumper wire from the battery cable to the coil, it fires right up.

Is there some inline fuse somewhere for the coil? Is there another fuse box other than the one in the glove compartment and the one on the fender well on the passenger side under the hood?

I triede to trace the wire all the way back, but pretty much once it runs into that cluster of wires, its gone.

Right now I have a hot toggled to the coil, I can drive the jeep, but I would REALLY like to fix it right!!!

Here is a copy of the page from the FSM with the wiring diagram for the ignition coil. I'm not the best at reading these things but hopefully it helps you.

maybe problem is in the PCM or harness?. couldn't hurt to check connection, clean and put a dab of dialectic grease also.

Here's a different idea:

Check your ignition actuator pin. These break which prevents your ignition from functioning properly. Mine broke, same exact symptoms. Pull the bottom cover off your steering column (two philips head screws), then you will see a cover held on by two tiny safety torx. You can use a punch to knock out the safety dot on them or buy safety torx if you don't have any. Be careful because a spring will pop out when you pull the cover off. Put your key in the ON position and press the cylinder pop/release and pull out the barrel. I can't remember much after that but once you get that cheap pot metal actuater pin out you will see where it is broken. The replacement part is $40 from NAPA.
