No power whatsoever

I was changing my oil filter on my 02 sport when I accidentally bumped the hot wire on the alternator with the filter wrench and it arched and now I have no power. No headlights, no ignition, no radio, nothing. The only thing, my oil pressure gauge and water temp gauge are just sitting there bouncing. HELP!

Yeah the fuses were all fine. I did unhook the battery entirely, both positive and negative cables, and I guess it reset something because then everything was back to normal. Weird huh?
