Question Noise in front end

Need help, dropped off a curb into the street yesterday and now when I go over uneven ground the front end makes a popping/ grinding noise ever so often. Jacked the Jeep up and tested the tie rods, they seemed OK. Next suspected shock or wheel bearing, didn't want to tear apart til I knew more. This is a 1998 Jeep Wrangler Sport 4 liter with 170 K miles. I'm the second owner and haven't had any problems til now. Anyone ever had such a problem?

DS or AS u-joints? Check your brakes too, never know if the pads may have slipped or something with the calipers.
