Noob OME 2.5" Shocks Question

Hi there,
So I got a OME 2.5" lift kit from Craigslist this evening in hopes of installing it in 99 TJ sport sometime soon. Everything looked OK when I first inspected (supposedly new and didn't have any scuffing to indicate it was mounted at all). But after I got home and checked one more time, I saw droplets of oil in the shocks (N66 and N67). I'm new to Jeeps, for all practical purposes new to automotive repair/mod for all practical purposes (perhaps i should just stick to buying brand from dealers, hindsight 20/20!!). But here some questions, it will be great if one of you experts out there can help answer, please!
1. Is there a way to tell if these shocks are shot!??
2. The shocks are compressed and held HD Shocks?
3. Do i have all the hardware to install these shocks?

I have posted couple pics of all the shocks and the hardware, any help or advice will be greatly appreciated!

Aren't there supposed to be some springs with that kit?

1. Yes. Leaking out fluid and don't expand after compressed.
2. They are suppose to be held as such. Normal for any shock. They are normal OME nitro charger shocks. ( good shocks).
3. I see three bar pins,,,,bushings for one stud in the photos. SO...from the picture posted....NO. Need one more bar pin and bushings/nut for the other stud.

Thanks DistortedTJ.
The 2nd question is actually incomplete, i just saw that! My bad, sorry!
So the question was, can these shocks be easily compressed by hand? I'm able to compress them but it does expand albeit slowly.

So i will need one more bushing and one more bar pin? Also can i just get these from autozone or do I have to order from a OME dealer?

Again thanks for your response DistortedTJ.

How easy is "easily compressed"? And yes they should expand slowly on their own.

Yes you can get the needed parts at most any auto part stores. Just take one bar pin in with you and the bushings/nut....hand them to the employee and tell them you want 1 of the bar pins and a set of shock stud bushings. If they don't have the lock nut...Take the one you have to any hardware store and get another just the same.

You need total to install all 4 shocks....

4 bar pins. (2 for front lower to axle/ and 2 for rear upper mount)
4 bushing washers.
4 stud bushings.
2 lock nuts.

You will reuse the factory bolts on the rear and the factory bolts on the front lowers.

Ok thanks again, i will check out Autozone or O'reilly's first.

Easily compressed meaning, i was able to compress but yea i had to put some effort to it. I guess I'll install these and run 'em and see if they are really any good. I guess it's a lesson learned for me to stay away from CL if i don't know what i'm doing!

Is this kit fairly easy to install (without drilling or welding?). I have no idea what to do with the panhard extension, bump stop and t-case drop. Do you guys know of a video for an OME kit install.

Did you ever find a good video? I'm getting ready to my install in a week or so. I'm pretty sure I know what I'm doing but it would be nice to se a video anyway.
