North County San Diego Jeep Mechanic

Hello my fellow Jeep companions,

I am new to the San Diego area and I currently live in North County (Vista). I am looking for a decent mechanic to bring my 2000 TJ in for maintenance. I am just looking for someone who knows Jeeps and is trustworthy. They donít necessarily have to be jeep specialist or anything crazy. Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Thanks again for the input...

For what type of work? Oil changes or suspension installations?

Just basic maintenance for now: brakes, oil changes, and tranny service. I eventualy want to swap axles and go with a long arm lift kit but that'll be down the road.

I have a guy in Escondido in the smallest dirtiest garage imaginable but he's honest and has always done right by me on things I didn't want to do. Eddie at Eddie's Automotive at 760-738-9822. He has even done things for free for me saying he knows I'll be back when something bigger needs to be done. He's probably not interested in installing suspension lifts but he'll do your basic mechanical work for you. Eddie loves to talk about fishing when you get to that point in your conversations with him.

Many Thanks Jerry. And my condolences for your stolen Jeep. I looked at your site and she looked like a great rig.

Eddie worked on my daughter's jeep ( on Jerry's recommendation) when she lived in San Diego and I agree he is a great mechanic. But don't be in a hurry because he wont be!
And if he starts talking fishing you might as well pull up a chair because you will be there for a while. But a great mechanic and 100% honest.
