I hope they didn't rape you with the shipping cost. Living out in Hawaii the shipping cost more then the item you are purchasing. I think quadratec will take care of your problem. Just explain and most likely they will send you another one and you have to send back the broken one.

doesn't surprise me one bit. i've only ever placed 3 orders with them, and they screwed every order up pretty bad. took weeks or months to get resolved each time.

Order #1: they charged my credit card 3 times, and Q-tec didnt believe me - I actually had to call the credit card company, who got Q-tec on conference call in order to get it resolved...that took a month to get fixed. Order #2, I ordered a TJ Kilby gas tank skid from Q-tec. They sent me a KJ skid, and it had busted through the box and was bent pretty bad. Not only the wrong part, but it was damaged! I sent it back and cancelled the order, and ordered the skid from Northridge4x4. Order #3, they shipped the wrong parts to my mom for christmas, and when I tried to return/exchange it they shipped the parts to me in Colorado, not my mom in Ohio...that took 3 months to get fixed, and I had to pay a 2nd shipping to Ohio.

I refuse to order anything from them unless absolutely necessary.

Wow and it sounds like I'll never use them reading this thread.

I just used northridge to order my locker, I usually use 4wheelparts for everything. My sales guy Rene always hooks me up. I've never paid retail or their asking price for a product there.

I only have one complaint with Quadratecs shipping and that's the price. It's crazy what they charge. Hopefully they will get you a new header channel soon, that's a bummer.

Thats a very common sales tactic. If you are the retailer and you want to sell a product for $50 when you bought it for $10, you put a $75 tag on it and tell the customer they're getting a special deal at $50-60. Places like grocery stores and Harbor Freight use coupons & club member cards in the same manner.

I've placed 6 orders in the past 2 weeks and all is well. Just like banks I guess. Some people just have bad experiences and others don't.

I've never had anybody else do that for me. So I'll stick with them 

I hope they contact you back and fix the problem pronto. For what they charge for shipping, it should of been sent out in some sort of box at least.

Just be careful about voicing complaints, on a very public forum, before you even call or speak with a vendor for a particular problem. They watch these forums.

I've only ordered a few things from them and have had no problems.

Sorry to hear sure they will fix it ordered from them a couple times no problems I'm also 45 minutes from them so I normally get it next day if in stock. As for there shipping cost I think it's a little high but if I need something next day it helps.

I stand corrected, as I DID get a response after I posted. So far, I have no other experience to share, but should in a few weeks!

I'm glad to hear the customer service department was able to get you straightened out. This item does not get boxed up by our warehouse, they all come pre-boxed from the manufacturer. I'll pass the word a long to our product department to let bestop know about the packaging. If you need anything else, or have any questions or concerns, please feel free to send me a message.

to Quadratec there.

Another thing to keep in mind, if one lives in Canada, is don't let them ship their products (Quadratec or anyone else) via UPS or FedX. The brokerage fees will be very unreasonable, sometimes even grreater than the cost of the item you ordered. USPS is the less expensive way to go. I got stung bad on PIAA wiper blades once, I believe they were from J C Whitney.

I wonder how the shipping works when there is a third party shipping, in the OP's case, Bestop for Quadratec.

Wow I have always had awesome luck with Quadratec. Item(s) arrive 1 or 2 days later and no damage. A buddy of mine ordered a bumper and there was a tiny ding and they paid to have it returned and sent him a new one.

Never had a problem with shipping/anything broken on this end. That includes from grab handles to a new Manual transmission. Quadratec only charged $79 dollars to ship the transmission (106 lbs.).

Quadratec's the bomb.

In six weeks, 38 packages from small to an arb bumper set & rockrails, + 5 tires.
Damaged...None
Complaints..2
Sent 2 sets of front rock doors by mistake..resolved with NO problems
Didn't receive a set of light mounts for the A-pillar...resolved
Cost... I can't complain living 30 miles from any town more than 1000 people. And it was quite honestly reasonable as can be given the weight of some items.

Never had a problem with QTEC shipping. I only order through Joe now, very happy with him. I will be calling you for lockers, hopefully sometime soon.

I worked for a warehousing outfit for camping gear. Small items inevitably get boxed up by them, or by quadratech as they are "loose"..things like hitch pins, usb ports, KC light guards. Larger specialty items like bumpers, rock doors (God help you ordering from Or-Fab...Their packaging is indestructable..!"ship as is. Its easier to assemble something from Or-Fab than it is to unpack it) and are sometimes shipped factory direct. Big items are BIG.. Small items get combined..its a warehouse mate, they pack things together, or odd shaped items in a box and in goes their reading material. Saves money on space, multiple items being lost going off into the great wide jeeper void without gps and getting mauled by a venemous duck is not an answer. Unless of course you wish to do without your emergency TP (as packaging or magazines can be used as) and have venemous duck spit on your assorted packaging.

So quit your gritchin. Without those handy 4WD and Quadratec catalogs we wouldn't have reading material to dream about on the pot or to start fires with out in the boonies.
