not your typical lift question I don't think...

So I'd like to do a lift, max of 2 or 2.5 so as to reduce the chance of vibes without doing too much extra work. My question is what if I were to go for a simple 2" bb and then replace my shocks with the rancho adjustable ones (9000's I think). Suggestions, comments?

Less than 4 inches, Driveline vibrations are not a concern. Do exactly what you're planning. No worries.

Read a bit anywhere and you'll see that this is rarely true for everyone.

2" however isn't much, so you could probably get away without any vibrations doing a small lift like that.

Contrary to popular belief there aren't "rules" as to what lift height will give you vibes. Some get away with 3" of lift and are great, whereas others get vibes even with a 2.5" BB, as I did. The good thing is since you're staying pretty low, even if you do have a small vibration it won't take much at all to fix it.

I didn't get any dl vibration with 2.5" or 3.5" lifts on either of my previous Jeeps. YMMV I suppose.

Definitely YMMV. I have the vibes on a 3" lift with TC drop even.

I had vibes with just a 2" BB... so each vehicle is different.

As far as shocks go.... unless you do any wheeling at all... your stock shocks will work fine with just 2" of lift.... don't spend it unless you need to replace your shocks because they are bad.

I wheeled a 2" BB with stock shocks for a year... even did the Rubicon Trail on 31's with the BB and stock shocks.... still going strong... but everything is coming off this weekend for a complete make-over....

I had vibes with a 2" BDS suspension lift. MML effectively removed the vibes .

I have no vibes on my 2" BB. No TC drop either, but like some have said not all Jeeps are so lucky. I highly recommend the Rancho 9000s. I will never have another standard shock again.

JKS Manufacturing Adjustable Coil Over Spacers

I would like to start my lift at 2" as well with JKS Manufacturing Adjustable Coil Over Spacers, any one has any ideas, in the future I plan lots of skid plates, so the fact that they can be adjusted, call my attention. Anything wrong with this plan?

Roll with it, i ran with a guy on a 2" budget boost who whipped me up and down a bunch of trails last weekend.
