nub looking for mods!

yo what up guys!
just bought my tj like 2-3 months ago and im slowly getting the jeep mod bug..
Just spent the past 4 hours ripping apart my front bumper and tearing off the milk jugs and painted the bumper.

Was looking for some other atheistic mods to make the wrangler look a little more clean when its not covered in mud.

so far ive painted the fenders and front bumper, back bumper is tomorrows project.

My list for upcoming mods are
31-10.5 tires
powder coat or crager soft 8's
maybe 2" spacer lift
new top
Find hard doors or dye my upper sliders.
new head unit
subs under the seat or just use my 2 kicker 12"s with no backseat.
tint sliders and windshield or full doors.

If theres any mod that im missing please post your suggestions
about to post some pics of my baby wrangs.

1.25" body lift AT MOST

You definitely could use some tires and could save some money if you decided to paint those wheels satin black, they'd look pretty good!

Chop that front bumper off and make a stubby out of it. You can get ends at a fairly reasonable price that finish off the ends.

Shop around though, you just never know what you can come up with.

I'd recommend that if you're wanting to do mods to buy the more important things FIRST!
Tires, Winch. Warn is having a heck of a sale right now! Check 4WP and google M8000 and their new one has an 8000 model number too BUT it's slower than the M8000. I THINK it's an SR8000 but not sure but it's on sale for something like $399.

Recovery gear, recovery bumper in back, rock rails/sliders, shackles all around... that sort of thing. All the other stuff is JUST FLUFF and trust me, when you're out on a trail pretty won't get you home unless you have the gear to back it up.

is that a 4 cylinder or 6?

you looking to use it as a DD and hit trails on the weekend?

if its a 4 you might want to consider re-gearing if you try to run 33s. its possible and its been done plenty of times, but you might lack some power on the highway if you use it as a DD.

Looks like a great starting point! What year/engine/transmission is it?

I was going to do some subs when I first started out, but I decided I would rather not have my top sliced open, and have people steal them, so I spent my money on what you see in my profile picture and just replaced the factory sub in the console.

It's ALWAYS a good idea to go with someone else, but still, having to rely on others for recovery isn't really good trail etiquette.

You should try to be as self sufficient and capable as possible

that 4 cyl 5 speed has 4.10 gears..you should be fine with 32, my 4cyl is a 6speed 3.73 gears and is a tad slow with 31s but those 4.10s will be better..do 32s not 31s

feeling hooks, think ill order some for the front.
once i start going to trails with more people around ill invest in a winch, but south jersey is pretty beat for offroad spots besides the few pits and few wood trails around.

update- today i tinted my brake lights and all the side markers and signals.
also painted the wheels black and it came it pretty nice, little over spray on the tire but not the end of the world.

Figured out im going to use u-pol raptor for the tub and inside the fenders, going to paint the rear bumper and see where i go from there.

pics coming tomorrow once its light

I would defiantly keep those wheels and just paint them. I have the same wheels and painted mine and was real happy with it.

wow yours definitely look better than mine, i let my friend do it while i was at work and he basically just used the spray paint like a crown and was 2 inches away spraying.
They turned out alright but the tires have overspray and theres like 1 tiny drip mark that you cant really see.. New tires and itll be nice though.

For the drip mark just take some sand paper to it and sand it off then spray the wheel again. I would stay about 6-8 inches away and that should help. Post some pics of your id love to see the difference. Good luck

I have a '00 2.5L, Auto & it's a driver..

-2.5" Rough Country Lift
-32" ProComps (Great off & on road, very little road noise)
-15" Soft 8's
-Banks "Monster" cat-back

I also made a 1.25" body lift that I didn't install yet. I very happy with my current mods. Well... The exhaust is questionable.

How does the exaust sound?
I've got a 2.5 and want an exaust but don't know if it would sound good or if I should just deal with it

Had a Gibson cat back on my yj 2.5. Sounded good, not rice burner like, ended up swapping it with a flow master. Sounded better, swapped it because of muffler rot.

I'm not happy with the sound at all... Too loud on the 2.5l.. I've heard it on the 4.0 & it was way better..
