NV 3550 fluid change

I used the forum search tool and found the one thread on NV 3550 fluid changes. Am I reading this correct, it never needs to be changed unless contaminated? Thanks in advance. I just want to make sure.

Thats what the owners manual says. But the service departments recommend changing every 60,000 miles, or if you have driven though deep water were it could have been contaminated. I don't have a place or the tools to do all this stuff so i just had my trans fluid changed yesterday at the jeep dealership.

It's just two bolts, remove the filler bolt first before you drain it. Getting the new fluid in can be interesting, three ways, hand pump that fits the oil can, suction/filler gun or you can remove the shifter and pour it in from up top, that last to me is more work than it's worth.

Thanks for the replies. It's just weird that the fluid doesn't need changing. All fluids should be changed are my thoughts. I guess I could change it every 60. Did it when I first purchased the jeep because didn't know the history. Sorry for the ramble, and thanks again.
