NV3550 noise and shifter feels loose

I had my trans. fluid replaced 2000 miles ago and just a couple of days ago my trans. started making a deep wine in first and second and there is twice as much play as usual.

Could it be the fluid or is it something wearing out?

Thanks CMA_Rider

Did you put syncromesh fluid in it? If not it has to have it

I had it changed for me (last time I'll ever do that) talked to a guy at advance and he said it sounded like they put ATF in it since the shop only charged me $4qt.

Is my trans. gone or what?

Exactly what fluid did they use? Call 'em and find out. And it doesn't have to be Pennzoil or GM Synchromesh which I am no fan of, there are better gear lubes that meet your particular transmission's specifications.

I went over there to day and they wouldnt admit anything and they dont keep exact records. They didn't even know what fluid goes in a nv3550 till 30min. after I asked.

It can't hurt to change it to a better lube which might actually help. Safe bets include Redline MTL, Royal Purple Synchromax, or Amsoil (not Pennzoil or GM) Synchromesh.

Synchromesh by Pennzoil doesn't get universal rave reviews on how the transmission shifts with it so even though it technically meets the NV3550's specifications, it's not one I would choose for the NV-3550.
