Odd tire question.

what's the biggest tire that can be mounted on the stock spare tire carrier? I'm on 15x8 canyon wheels with 30x9.5's currently, and I'm looking at upgrading to 32x11.5s with a 2" RE-BB. would I have to get an aftermarket tire carrier, or should I stick with the rollerskate look and keep the 30 incher?

Im not 100% because I bought it this way, but I have BFG 32x11.5s and have one mounted as a spare mounted on the stock carrier and it fits fine. Only thing that I did notice was that it looks like the wire for the 3rd brake light was extended. Hope that helps

I put A 31x10.5 on mine on A stock wheel and it was a tight fit. I saw a spacer somewhere that will allow you to raise the third brake light up a little to clear it and the wires will probably have to be extended but that is a pretty easy job.

I have stock ravine wheels which are the same size as the canyons with 32" BFG MTs and at first they didn't fit, but I put some thick washers between the gate and the tire mount plus trimed the rubber bump stops a little about 1/2 an inch and now they fit pretty well. The tire rest on the bumper just a little but that takes some of the weight off the tail gate. I wouldn't use one of those tire adapters, I had one on my tire mount and it was causing too much stress on the gate, with those tire adapters on stock wheels the tire doesn't rest on anything and all the weight is on the mounting bolts for the tire carrier. I just went to TSC (Tractor Supply Company) to find the washers. Only cost a couple of dollars.

I'm running Canyons with 31x10.50 BFG's which just fit w/o having to add a spacer to the 3rd brake light. A friend had 32x11.50's and just removed the 3rd brake light. You could add a small spacer to that mount and raise it up a little and have the tire fit and prob just rest on the rear bumper. As stated above you will have to trim down the rubber bumpers that are mounted on the tailgate. Good luck and post up some pics when your done.
