Oil consumption

3 months ago I did a oil change in my 05 LJ. I used 6 qts of mobile 1 and i just pulled out 3 qts doing a oil change just now. I don't see any noticeable leaks and i don't have a blue cloud coming out my exhaust. What gives?

sorry it a 4.0

to be totally honest with you i dont keep track. i change my oil every 3 months. i dont have a long commute to work and dont really drive the jeep much during the summer months. I spend most of my time on the bike.

1 qt per month oil consumption is excessive...have you checked your engine compression?

Check coolant for contamination(look in radiator for foamy white stuff), that's the only other place it could be going if there are no noticeable oil leaks and your not burning it. I hope all turns out well. Let us know what u find!

Wow! My 97 burns 1/2-1 quart every 5000 or so, but I have 156000 miles too. Something is fishy...
