oil pressure issues, replacing oil pump

I'm replacing my oil pump. Would it be better to get a high volume pump or just a replacement? Thanks folks!

From what I have read, the HV will not fit in the stock oil pan. Now will it? I have not done it, just from what I read. Got oil pressure problems??

Ya I've seen the mods to the oil pan already. Ya running like 5-7 lbs at idle.

You use a real oil pressure gauge and not the dash gauge?

Sorry to hear that. My dash gauge went goofy like they do and I put in a real gauge too. Hot it will get down to 10 the lowest. But running 2K it will hold 40+ Good luck. Let us know how it works out.

Ya it holds fine when The rpms are up. Just when I stop it drops way low. Check gauges light comes on every now and then. Just another thing to be tinkering with. (It's funny bc I knew nothing about cars before I got my Jeep....)

If the mechanical gauge never goes to 0 I would not change the pump. What oil you running?

What year TJ and to confirm, you also have an aftermarket oil pressure gauge installed?

Early TJs do have "real" oil pressure gauges in that they show the true oil pressure.
