oil pressure sensor

Anyone know or preferable can show a picture of where the wire goes that leads from the oil pressure switch to run into the gauges on the dash? Had an idiot do some work on my jeep and he cut that wire and I don't know which wire groups it hooks into any help would be appreciated.

found wire

ok so i found the wire coming off the sensor and wiring diagrams that show it goes right into the PCM (with no car knowledge prior to this idiot doing work on my jeep i am learning fast what all these are). so with that being said is it easy to put this wire back into the PCM? what do i have to do? anyone done this before?

What yr do you have? There are differences. On my ’05 the wire from the sender goes into a big harness that comes down sort of behind the engine & goes on back along the trans. It goes in that harness right where a small harness comes off & goes down to the starter. See if you can peel back the wrapping & find where the wire was cut & splice it back to the rest of the sender wire. Most if not all yrs use a gray or gray with some other color wire. Where that wire attaches to the PCM varies by yr. If you can’t locate the cut end post the yr & auto or manual trans & I can post the pin on the PCM that that wire goes to. It will be a lot easier to splice it rather than replace it.

I should have asked, I'm assuming a 4.0. The reference below is for a 4.0, the 2.5 it the page before but the wiring is the same.

Do you still have the part that attaches to the sender? It looks like the ’99 has 3 wires. 2 go directly to the PCM & one splices with other wires before going to the PCM.

Go here to an online read only FSM. Pick your yr & the sensor is shown in the fuel/ignition system (section 30 about page 8). It is called “engine oil pressure sensor” if you look it up in other sections. Go to the connector pin outs section to see the pin locations. The 3 PCM modules are shown there (section 80 about page 30).
