Is that what Mobil recommends?

Or are they smart enough to make great oil but not smart enough to know what oil works best where?

Royal Purple in everything except the engine, then it is Castrol. As for filter, I was using Fram but now I am looking for a new company after I heard about the cardboard.

The Turbo Diesel Truck oil is rated for gasoline engines too. I use it based on the issues of 1.) low ZDDP and its effects on flat tappet engines and 2.) the poorly designed OPDA in the '05 and '06 I6 engines. If you have one, this thread is highly informative.

I ran Castrol GTX motor oil for over 35 years, 2 years ago I switched to Mobil I full synthetic, and have never looked back. I use either a Mobil filter or WIX.

I have used Vavoline oil and Wix filters for 30+ years. I've built race engines for Jeeps and motorcycles and pulling one down for maintenance their clean. That said, I use Mobile 1 Synthetic in my Harley and wifes Corvette....with Synthetic oil, you will eventually get "seepage" from gasketed surfaces. In my Duramax diesel I use Shell Rotella. ....if I had to use only one in all of our vehicles it would be Shell Rotella.....it's that good.
