Ok stupid newbie question

I everyone. Just bought my first Jeep last week. Silly son thinks its for him next year (hahaha). I'll admit...never saw me liking it. I drive a brand new every option on it Explorer. BUT.....
I've been sucked into this forum. And 2 days ago i had to take the Explorer and thought "well this is no fun".
Now what I want to know is this:
Lift and tires, rims? What do I get? Look for?
MY JEEP LOOKS LIKE A SISSY!!!!!
2000 Wrangler
Everything is currently stock that I can tell

What are you going to use it for?

Street only? Some off road? Full on rock crawler?

I'm in the middle of a big change as well. I have 31's and 2.5" lift.
Aftermarket front bumper goes a long way towards losing that sissy look, but if you are going to keep the stocker for now, knock off the milk jugs, front and back.
I'm taking my side steps off tonight, I'll get before and after photos up tomorrow so you can compare the difference for yourself.

The largest tires you can go on stock suspension is 31s. That said, if you dont want to go too extreme, you could always just get a 2 to 3 inch lift. If you have deeper pockets you could go with an OME 2.5 lift. Then once you want to go to 33s, you can add a body lift and motor mount lift. Thats my plan, but not with the OME, with a Rough Country lift.

Welcome!!!

My Jeep was for my teenager, he says he doesn't want a jeep. At least he was honest, so I got it. Yup, selling my other vehicles now... I won't give up the jeep and after 3 years I cannot see myself ever having a different primary vehicle.

He's into all that tuner stuff. Thankfully he was honest instead of disgracing it by lowering to the ground and putting a huge tailpipe on it. LOL

2.5" lift and 31s Mud Tires will give you a more aggressive look and not change the way it handles on the road while giving you a bit more capable off road ability.

My old Jeep 2.5 & 31s

Buy some 30-31 inchers, and see how it works out. You might want a lift, but take it offroad and see. I haven't lifted mine, and so far I'm a road crawler, lol. (NO MALLS) I personally have no need of a lift, and I like it the way it is. Everybody's different. Mine is my primary vehicle, yours is secondary, so do your thing. Some of the add-ons are expensive, so if you don't like it you might be stuck spending more to do it over again.
