Jeep didn't sponsor them until after they had shot everything. That's why they had to call it car to far, and car this and car that.

Still an interesting show though. The D35 fix they did was interesting.

I love how they are supposed to be trying to navigate out of the deep jungle in the first episode, but every time it shows them driving the jeep it looks like they are driving down a freakin dirt road. thats the clearest jungle i have ever seen.

I was thinking the same. As soon as they would hit dry ground, those straps wouldn't last long at all. But it does claim that some scenarios are staged so Don't take everything too seriously.

Like a D35 breaking. That never happens so it had to be a manufacturing defect.

When you pull the e-brake, the shoes push out against the drum. If you do this while the drum is not on, you shouldn't be able to fit the drum back over the shoes. I didn't catch this since I was mostly busy reading and posting on WF. good excuse, right?

I was amazed they still had brakes. Think about all of the times he pushed on the brakes without the drum over the shoes. He blew the wheel cylinder apart which would allow brake fluid to leak out.

My favorite part on last sundays show when Woo guy decides to sleep in "the car". Then he starts freaking out over something like its cold or spiders or whatever. Then he jumps out and knocks on the tarp. Then he gets all snuggled up with Gary and says. "thanks for sharing your ice hole with me". Seriously i almost died laughing.

I totally agree! We wouldn't have ANY brakes at all once the wheel cylinder blew. Maybe he was using the e-brake... lol!

I just don't understand why they stripped all the JEEP decals, not that its any obvious that its a JEEP and Nissan is sponsoring it or whatever, why didn't they just use an xterra?? I will never understand show biz

What? No Nissan isn't sponsoring it. Jeep is. Why would Nissan sponsor it?

Someone said that they werent sponsored by jeep until after the show was done shooting.

So even though it is recognizable with or without the decals, removing the decals probably appeased some sort of legal issue. Same with why they call it a car and not a jeep I would assume.

You're mistake is the application of common sense

Nissan is sponsoring the commercial breaks on On Demand so there wouldn't be any or very minimal. I just find it stupid that they are using a JEEP but aren't allowed to call it that or show it. Your right none of this makes any common sense. I love the views in the show though, don't really get to see those kind of views with my jeep because of living in Chicago and constantly being broke!! Lol

In Dallas Ft Worth the only commercials they are playing is Jeep commercials for 2013 JK's. They also say they sponsor the show. Idk what to think other than they need a NEW DRIVER!!!! And don't call the Jeep a car....

I found that on their facebook page. They said it was the most annoying response they got from viewers. Asking them why they kept calling it a car. So they cleared it up by telling everyone that they weren't officially sponsored until after production.

Its like when you watch DIY network, or Home and Garden and you know its a Ford, or Dodge truck, but they blur it out because it was not officially sponsored and they don't want people to think that Ford or Dodge gave them the truck to use on the show.

Its all about product placement marketing in show business now. They do it in the movies as well. Pepsi, or coke, or Dewalt, blah blah blah will pay the production team to have their particular product with name clearly visible.

Under a different name? His IMDB profile doesn't list it anywhere, and cross searching his name with Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, or Skyfall doesn't bring up anything definitive. Not saying he couldn't play the part, but it doesn't seem he is credited anywhere with actually doing it.

*actually, the IMDB listings for the movies have several actors listed as Daniel Craig's stunt double credited and uncredited. Gary isn't mentioned anywhere.
