It's all personal preference. I'm a lazy person and never kept up on the needed cleaning of the stock aluminum wheels I had so when I needed new ones, I went black to hide the brake dust. Pics are in my profile as an example of black on black.

Not a big fan of "blacked out" jeeps.
All black rimes look good on the light colored jeeps. But are you looking for looks or function? Some dismiss chrome-- well cause it's a jeep but others like it but--why spend the money on a pretty rim and mess it up off road.

I like something like this.

Nice.

Rims and tires make a jeep

This was mine before I sold her.
I had just put on a set of rubi take offs and bedlined the front grill.

31" tires w/ 2" BB would look great on your Tj

I paid $500 for rims/tires. Rubi takeoffs, was thinking about bedlining them black since the jeep was silver.

Factory Moabs IMO look great on a black jeep.

Heres mine, sorry it's a Jk

Brushed/machined aluminum or black. Chrome wheels have never once looked good on a Jeep, especially a black one.

American Racing. Problem is that once the clearcoat gets compromised, they really look like crap. That has happened on one of mine, so I will be replacing it soon.

I puzzled over the same thing for the longest time. Finally realized that I liked my wheels. Installed my lift and tires on them. Something to consider. I think they look good (they are JeeP wheels afterall) and saved some dough for other goodies.
