Opinions on regear vs axle swap

I am considering a regear with lockers and shafts.
From what I have seen it costs about the same to order set of g2 44's front and rear with lockers and bolt them up.
Am I missing something?
I currently run a d30/d44.

Are you staying with the 33" tires?

If you already have a rear 44 there's no reason to get another one. What size tire

That's what I was thinking but looking at cost to re gear-600, add locker 800 plus shafts 500 plus diff cover at 100
Comes out to about 2k. Does that make sense?
When I crunched the numbers I felt like i was missing something obvious?

Your D30/D44 is fine for 35's. No need to upgrade to G2's. Buying gears and lockers is way cheaper.

Look at Superior Axle Super D30 kit it comes with everything. As for your rear all you will need is gears and a locker.

Baseline4x4 on WF will give you a great deal on gears and lockers.

I was in the same boat but I remember it being slightly more expensive for a fully built g2 setup. I'm going to have my current 44 regeared and drop in an hpd30 to regear as well

I totally rebuilt both axles. Bearings, Seals, brakes, gears, new rear axles and lockers(detroit rear and aussie front) for $3000. Sub in ARB f/r and you would still be less than a pair of G2's that you haven't installed.

The difference there would be about about 1k in lockers, + front shafts at 600 and diff covers at 200.
Now at 4800 vs about 5500 for g2's sent to my house and installed by me for free. That was actually very helpful. (I don't mean that condescendingly) more real quotes and parts will help me out here for sure. Thanks.

The difference would be less because the cost of my lockers would need to be subtracted.

Why on earth are you spending $200 on a diff cover????

You can't install the G2's for free. You will end up replacing something.

Good luck. Gears and lockers are money well spent on a Jeep no matter your decision.

100 per diff is what I figured for something comparable on diff covers. Thanks for the vote of confidence, I will probably over analyze it for another couple of weeks, get frustrated and make a rash decision. Ha.

Where r u getting 4800 vs 5500? 5500 for the g2s i get that but 4800 for gears a front shaft nd lockers? The super 30 kit is 1600w. an arb. Then 800 for the rear arb. 600 for the gears? Plus diff covers 200. Im not seeing 4800 but rather 3600. Did i miss something tho?

If the price is that close jruss, just personally i would go with the new axles. Along with it comes some piece of mind with new shafts and all. Do the new axles come with the hubs and all on them...or you goin to have to swap alot of your hardware into them? I wont touch gears myself, axle swap isnt a problem though so i know what you mean there. Would be nice having a 44 up front too though. Dammit, now you got me thinking about buying the new axles, i was about to buy a set of Ox lockers and 4:88s for mine. Sigh.

Yea thats a tough call. I have 44s f/r so its really a less feasable option for me. But u can armor up with the money u save on axles. Thats how i see it.

You could go with the new G2 axles for slightly more money ready to bolt in...and SELL the old stuff and possibly come out cheaper in the long run..
