Question Opinions on the Firestone Destination MT's

Hey, I have a RE 3.5" lift in the mail and I have pretty much decided on getting the 33" Firestone Destination MT Tires, but I have hardly seen any opinions on the tires on this forum. I decided on these because they are reasonably priced, they apparently wear well, and my boss has them on his Suburban and really likes them. They are also rated the best of Mud Tires on tirerack.com. Anyone have any opinions???

Give me a week and I can find out, I start work for Firestone on Monday, I'll be in Phili for a week for training then I am the new Tire Sales Manager. Right now I don't know anything about Firestone in general, I just had to get out of my old job.

I have them on my jeep, and I had the Bridgestone equivalent on my truck. They are ok, but, in my experience, they have worn pretty quickly, but i do drive a lot more than I off-road. Off-road tho, they did pretty good, pulled through mud real well. I have never driven them in the snow, since we don't get a whole lot here.

I have a set of 31's that have been on for about 18 months and they seem to be wearing pretty well.

I did rip a few lugs off about 6 months ago when doing some climbs on rough rocky ledges, but the road hazzard warranty covered them with no problems.

I try to stay out of the mud but the few times I have encountered it they seemed to really work good. I am very pleased at their performance on the rock climbing type trails that I run on.

tires

Ok, sound like they are decent but not the best. Tiburon, I won't be purchasing the tires for prob at least a month so I will wait to hear what you have to say. Does anybody suggest different mud tires? Since I won't be doing a whole lot of off-road driving I would be looking for them to wear well and perform ok on the road. I know I should be going with all-terrain but I just like the looks of the mud tires so much better.

nah i think the mud tires are a good choice. i see where your coming from and i am the same. i drive on the road a good bit but i love the look of the mud terrains. soooo i got the bfg mud terrains...they are super good offroad and very good onroad also. they look awesome and handle fine on the road. they are decently quiet as well and tread wear is good. i would definitely recommend the bfg's. although i would love to try the 33" toyos too! MR. CLIFFORD really seems to like his!

Yup, love my BFG mud terrains. I could have lived with another set of BFG All terrains, but I also wanted the more aggressive tire, and I love the mud so...

i have the 33x12.5s on my jeep now for about a month. They are way stickier than my bfg mts were. with my rear locked my bfg mts would bark and chirp all the time when i would turn and i have yet to hear them make this sound. As a matter of fact if you have the windows down while at a full turn you can her the sticky composite rubber gripping the road. They have been great in mud and rocks. I crawl a bit better with less throttle now than i did before. Great Tires. I would buy them again.
